BellinghamART offers a year-round art program for teaching drawing and painting to children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. Our classes reflect and support our conviction that anyone can learn to draw. Just as notes are fundamental to playing music, and the alphabet is basic to reading, drawing is the foundation for all visual art.
By providing a critique-free, supportive environment, free of competition and other distractions we help to foster the concentration necessary for each of our students to achieve their artistic goals. Learning the basics of drawing and painting is a life-skill that will give our students an appreciation for art and world cultures, the tools for their creative expression, improved problem solving skills, and pride in their artistic accomplishment. Our students are taught to see beyond the obvious, to the individual parts that make up their drawings and paintings, by breaking down the subject into simple shapes, and building on that one step at a time.
