We offer art classes for children, teens and adults. Classes meet once a week and run through the academic year. Our small class size, individualized instruction, and continually changing art curriculum allow you to join at any time.
Classes are grouped by age as a starting point. You can also view our Schedule page to quickly look up a class time.

4 to 5 Years
I Can Draw and Paint
1 hour class
When children begin to recognize their ABC’s it goes hand-in hand with learning to draw. They quickly recognize how letterforms go together and use this to learn to draw and paint. Students are taught the proper use of art tools and materials: pencil, brush, watercolor, and chalk pastels. As they gain confidence they apply this to projects inspired by subjects for younger students.
5 to 6 Years
Exploring Drawing and Painting
1 hour class
Young students start with the step-by-step basics of drawing and painting as well as exploring and learning to use watercolor, colored pencil, oil and chalk pastels. Students will learn to apply their creativity through fun and educational projects with drawings and paintings taken from observation, photographs and illustrations.
Drawing, Painting and Sculpting
1 hour class
Students learn the basics using watercolor, colored pencil, oil and chalk pastels, paper mache, and sculpting with Polymer and self-hardening clay. They apply their creativity through fun and educational drawings, paintings and 3D projects taken from observation, photographs and illustrations using people, animals and plant forms as subjects.
6 to 8 Years
Basic Drawing and Painting
1 hour class
Introduces the basics of drawing and painting and challenges young students through drawing and painting projects using subjects such as animals, still life, and people. Students learn the proper use of pencil, brush, pastel, charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic paint. The emphasis is on learning to draw while developing skill in beginning perspective, proportion and shading.
Basic Media and Techniques
1 hour class
For students who preferably have completed our Basic Drawing and Painting class. Students use a wide variety of materials, and learn techniques for applying a variety of styles and art materials to their drawing and painting. Projects include the use of mixed media such as printmaking and paper mosaic using nature, animals, still life, buildings, and the human face as subject matter.
Exploring Sculpting
1 1/2 hour class
Students will design and create 3-D sculpture projects using techniques such as paper mache, needle felting, and sculpting with Polymer and self-hardening clay. Projects will be guided step-by-step using people, animals and plant forms as subjects. Both beginners and experienced younger artists will learn skills to continue creating sculptures on their own.

An introduction to the basics of drawing and painting while challenging students to expand their art with projects inspired by people, animals, still life, and fantasy. Students will learn to draw independently while developing skill and technique in simple perspective, 3D drawing, shading, proportion, and depth using pencil, pastel, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic paint.
8 Years to Teens and Adults

Students are encouraged to develop a creative approach to drawing and painting by using a variety of styles and art materials. Projects include the drawing of animals and plants, still life, the human face and figure. Students will use a variety of media such as basic printmaking, paper mosaic and scratchboard.

Acrylic Painting for Teens

Learn to handle acrylic paint with confidence. A representational painting class for students who have some experience in basic drawing and painting skills. Emphasizes composition, value, color and edge control. Students learn from still-life set-ups, photographs, reference to master painters, and clothed models.

Adults
Drawing and Painting
1 1/2 hour class
Drawing and painting basics that challenge adult students to expand their art and learn to work independently while developing skill and technique in simple perspective, 3D drawing, proportion, and shading. Students will draw and paint from still life set-ups, reference to master painters, and models using pencil, pastel, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic.
Pastel and Oil Painting
1 1/2 hour class
An introduction to pastel and oil painting, from color mixing to paint handling. Learn how to crop and frame your subject to make a strong composition, the use of value, and paint with both limited and full palettes. Students learn from still-life set-ups, photographs, reference to master painters, and clothed models.
