12 - teens | Paper Mâché Sculpting

This class starts April 9 and runs through May 28. There are 8 classes. It runs on Tuesdays from 4:30-6pm and is taught by Teacher Kari.

For our spring session, we will be trying something brand new – a class on paper mâché! In this class we will create a paper mâché sculpture of an animal of the students choice. Starting from square one, we will learn about what makes a good subject for this medium. We will then design our subjects, and build armatures for them. From there we will learn to mix our own paper mâché recipe, and start building. Paper mâché is a slow process, so we will spend several weeks building up our sculptures. Once finished we will paint the outside of these fabulous works of art and get them ready to display. Focus for this class will be put on designing and working in 3-D. This will be a fun one!
