Summer in the Studio with Karen Theusen

10:30-1:30 pm (includes a 30 minute lunch break)

Adult Class (teens must be approved before registering)

Come to our relaxed and inviting Summer in the Studio class! In this class students will join us for a studio style class. Bring whatever you are working on at home, or start a new project here - we have plenty of ideas and reference photos for you to choose from. Work in either acrylic paint or oils (whichever you feel most comfortable in).  In this class we will help you wherever you need it. If you are struggling on a part of your painting, or even just in getting started, our teacher Karen will help you out. Learn new techniques, speed up your process, try new styles, work on brush control, color mixing, and more. This class works well for students who use acrylics (or oils), and have some experience with drawing and painting. It is a chance to create art with others while having teacher Karen here to get you through any places in your artwork where you might otherwise be stuck. Come with ideas, or projects from home. Previous drawing skills encouraged for this class.

All materials supplied. If you have specific supplies from home you would prefer using, you are welcome to bring them.

Bring your own lunch, or snacks. We have coffee and tea for everyone.

This workshop is taught by Karen Theusen. Karen is one of our teen and adult teachers, and often teaches our weekend workshops. She comes with over 25 years of experience creating murals, published illustrations, developing merchandise, and creating acrylic paintings. She is an expert in acrylic paint and texture, and her range of subject matter spans from landscapes to flowers to dogs to much more.
