Bookmaking & Zines

In this week’s class, students will explore multiple forms of bookmaking and the process of creating zines. We will start things off by using traditional bookmaking techniques to create hand-bound sketchbooks that we customize and use to sketch, journal, and generate ideas. We will also discuss the history of zines, their continued significance in art, music, and activism, and create our own mini zines from scratch. Along the way we will explore other mediums we will explore such as printmaking, collage, journaling, painting, and more! By the end of this class, our goal is to create a variety of handmade sketchbooks, and build a finished zine that creatively express our unique ideas, opinions, and experiences!
Camp price includes a daily snack and all materials.
Teen camps typically attract 13 - 16 year olds, but all teens are welcome.
